Product Description
Patch Booster is a gelcoat additive that significantly improves the application, appearance and longevity of gelcoat patches. Patch Booster eliminates the need to thin, side-promote, or add wax to gelcoat prior to patching. Formulation enhancements have lengthened the shelf life of a sealed can to (1) year, while maintaining a sand able cure in 1-3 hours. Do not use any other wax additive when using Patch Booster.
- Faster Cure
- Harder Patch
- Superior Weathering
- Maximum Viscosity Reduction
- Increased Working Time
- Long Shelf Life
- Low color, which results in excellent spray patches
- Low viscosity, for easier spray and less orange peel
- Longer working time, advantageous for repairing large defects and for mold resurfacing.
- Light stabilized, to minimize discoloration of patches made using clear and pigmented gel coats.
- Good surface cure, which minimizes sandpaper "gumming".
- Excellent sanding and buffing.
- Easy mold resurfacing.

Application guidelines
1. Mix Patch Booster thoroughly. (Do not use any other wax additive when using Patch Booster.)
2. The recommended ratio mix 20%-25% Patch Booster to gel coat. To this mix, add correct amount of MekP Hardener/Catalyst. Mix and spray.
3. The acceptable method for measuring small quantities of MEKP is with a syringe. Even a thinly sprayed layer will be ready to sand in approximately one hour and hard enough to buff soon thereafter.
4. Care must be taken not to over-or under-catalyze, which may affect color.
5. Working time is approximately five minutes.
The product will not affect colors like styrene or acetone and is added up to 25 percent by volume to your gelcoat (one quart per gallon). You will want to catalyze the gelcoat at 2% when you add this additive.
Precautions: Do not use any other wax additive when using Patch Booster. Always mix before using. This assures a uniform mixture that will perform the same, from the first patch to the last. If Patch Booster has been allowed to become cooler than 70 F, it could become cloudy and, at this point, would no longer be a homogenous solution. The material should be brought to room temperature and returned to its original appearance before using. Catalyzed masses get very hot as they cure. Excess catalyzed patching materials should be placed in a bucket of water to cool.
