Product Description
Duralux Sub Trop Red Metal Primer is a rust inhibiting primer for iron, steel, or partially rusted galvanized surfaces. It adheres strongly by forming a good, tight band with the metal. This metal primer dries flat to insure easy brushing of successive coats.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
SURFACE PREPARATION: The surface to be painted should be free of oil, grease, dirt and other deposits. Remove rust by blasting or power brushing. Gritsweeping is best for removing old peeling paint.
APPLICATION: Use brush, roller or spray.
Unpainted Surfaces: Apply a coat of Sub Trop Red Metal Primer by either brush, roller or spray. Dipping may be required in some cases. Apply two top coats of the finish paint desired.
Painted Surfaces: Remove rust and spot metal with Sub Trop Red Metal Primer. Also spot chipped areas in the same manner before applying the desired finish coats.
Thinning:Thin only with paint thinner, one-half to one pint per gallon for spray purposes. For brushing or rolling, use only enough paint thinner to make the paint workable. The less thinner you use, the better rust inhibiting qualities achieved.
Coverage: 400 to 500 square feet depending on the condition of the metal to be primed.
Drying Time: Four hours, depending on temperature and humidity.
Clean Up: Clean equipment with Mineral Spirits or Xylene after use.
